Special Olympics is the
largest international program of year-round sports training and athletic competition for
children and adults with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities. With
the help of over 20,000 volunteers, coaches, family members, and sponsors,
Special Olympics New Jersey
serves over 15,000 athletes in over 400 communities throughout the Garden State. Training
is offered in 22 sports and more than 150 competitions are held annually.

strength of its program and constantly strives to recruit more athletes and develop higher
quality programs of training and competition. Because Special Olympics is offered at no
cost to the athlete, a variety of fundraising vehicles are in place including special
