What information do we collect and how do we use it?
For volunteer, coaching and training event registrations we need to know your event preferences, your name and your e-mail address. For online fundraising event registrations we need to know your credit card number, expiration date and card code verification (CCV) number, and your billing/shipping address.
How does Special Olympics New Jersey protect customer information?
We use a secure server for collecting credit card information. The secure server layer (SSL) encrypts (scrambles) all of the information you enter before it is transmitted over the interenet to our payment service. Furthermore, we never save any of your credit card information in any databaseor file.
What about "cookies" and "web beacons"
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. We do not use cookies to collect or store any information about visitors.
A "web beacon" is a small image placed in our e-mail newsletters that enables us to tell when and if the newsletter is received. The beacon contains no personal information and is used by Special Olympics New Jersey only to gauge the effectivness of our newsletters.
Will Special Olympics New Jersey disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
Special Olympics New Jersey does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. Special Olympics New Jersey may release information when we believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to:
