Who:
Calling all runners, joggers and walkers to step up to The Challenge.

What:
A USATF certified 5K (3.1 mile) fun run/walk from New Jersey to New York City and back via the Lincoln Tunnel. Awards and refreshments immediately following the race.

Where:
The NJ Transit Bus Parking Lot (click here for directions) adjacent to the Lincoln Tunnel entrance in Weehawken, NJ, 500 Boulevard E. (New Yorkers can ride the FREE shuttle from NY's 41st St. between 8th & 9th avenues). Parking for the event is free.
When:

No one will be allowed through the tunnel after 9:15 A.M.
Why:
Presented by AmeriHealth of New Jersey, The Port Authority of NY & NJ, the Lincoln Tunnel Administration, and Coach USA, this annual event benefits Special Olympics New Jersey. The Port Authority of NY & NJ is a member of New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey, a volunteer organization which raises money and awareness for the mission of Special Olympics New Jersey.
How:

The Lincoln Tunnel: The South Tube will be closed and thoroughly cleaned the night before the event. The tunnel is continuously ventilated; with the inside air changed every 90 seconds. No traffic will be allowed in the tunnel until post-race.

Special Olympics New Jersey: Special Olympics New Jersey is a non-profit organization authorized and accredited by Special Olympics Incorporated and the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation. Special Olympics New Jersey provides free, year-round sports training and Olympic-type competition in 24 sports for more than 21,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
