Course:

Participants will run or walk a 5K (3.1 miles) certified USATF course. This is a Grand Prix 500 point USATF sanctioned event. The toll booths in Weekhawken mark both the start and finish of the race. There is a cone turnaround once participants reach the NYC side of the tunnel.

Registration:

$25 if registered/postmarked by April 19th.
$23 for USATF if registered/postmarked by April 19th.
$35 registration fee after April 19th and on the day of race. Online Registration closes April 24th at noon.
$5 additional for pasta dinner.

No additional fee for team entries. Teams must register by April 19th whether it is online or via mail. If teams are submitting hard copies of their registration, they must be mailed all together and received by the Special Olympics New Jersey office NO LATER THAN April 19th. Race Times:

First race start - 8:00 a.m. for those who run 25 minutes or under *
Second race start - 8:45 a.m. for runners and walkers over 25 minutes *

* Important note to participants: There is a specific time allotted for each race. If participants do not complete their race in the time allotted, he or she will be escorted by race officials in a vehicle and brought back to the finish line.

Entry Options:

First Race Start – participant must run 25 minutes or under and will automatically receive a disposable "D" tag for official timing result.
Second Race Start – participant will run or walk over 25 minutes and requires a disposable "D" tag for official timing result
Second Race Start – walker who DOES NOT need a disposable "D" tag for official timing result

Each participant will receive a disposable "D" tag with their race number unless walker requested no "D" tag. Please view this PDF on the proper way to attach your "D" tag. Any walker needing a tag to register an official time for USATF Grand Prix results must select the appropriate registration box.

Souvenir Shirt:

All registered participants will receive a shirt while supplies last. Sizes are not guaranteed.

Incentives:

Earned incentive items can be picked up at designated tent before or after participant competes.

Level 1 – Participants who raise $125 - $299:

Note: In order to meet a particular incentive level, a participant single handedly needs to raise that money. For example, if there are 3 people in a family and between you, you raise $125, this does not meet Level 1. Person A must pay entry fee plus raise the balance to meet the $125 incentive level. Combined entry fees for all three family members plus balance to meet $125 does not qualify for incentive item. Families CANNOT combine money to meet a particular incentive level.

Team:

A team is made up of individual registrations and its respective fees.

Each individual participant on a team must pay the registration fee; NOT just the team captain.
This is not a Grand Prix team competition. The Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 5K is strictly an individual Grand Prix 500 point race.
All teams will have a team captain. We will need this individual's name, telephone number and email in case there are questions. Team captains should check the "Team" section periodically for this event as possible updates will be made with pertinent information.

Male Team:

Minimum of 3 people.

Female Team:

Minimum of 3 people.

Coed Team:

A coed team consists of a minimum of 3 people with at least 1 being female. Awards are presented based on top 3 finishers of your team. If a female does not make the top three, the third fastest male time will be dropped and replaced by the fastest female time and vice verse.

Registration Pick-Up and Pasta Dinner:

Participants can pick up their race items and souvenir shirt on Saturday from 6-9 PM at the Sheraton Harbor Hotel – Weehawken - The official hotel of the Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 5K. Participants can also stay and enjoy a great pasta dinner for a nominal fee. So why not get a room and stay the night too! The hotel has reserved a block of rooms for people interested in staying overnight before the race. Mention you are participating in the event to get the discounted rate. SPECIAL OLYMPICS RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY, AND PARENTAL CONSENT AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT")
   
In consideration of participating in the Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 5K, I represent that I understand the nature of Fun Run/Walk events and that I and/or my minor child am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate  in such Activity. I acknowledge that if I and/or my minor child believe event conditions are unsafe, I and/or my minor child will immediately discontinue participation in the Activity.

I fully understand that Fun Run/Walk events involve risks of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis and death, which may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, those of others participating in the event, the conditions in which the event takes place, or the negligence of the "releasees" named below; and that there may be other risks either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages I and/or my minor child incur as a result of my and/or my minor child’s  participation in the Activity.

I hereby release, discharge, and covenant not to sue Special Olympics, Inc., Special Olympics New Jersey, Inc., The Port Authority of NY and NJ, USATF, USATF-NJ, their respective administrators, directors, agents, officers, volunteers, and employees, other participants, any sponsors, advertisers, and owners and lessors of premises on which the Activity takes place, (each considered one of the "RELEASEES" herein) from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on my account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the "releasees" or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations; and I further agree that if, despite this release, waiver of liability, and assumption of risk I, or anyone on my and/or my minor child's  behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releasees, I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless each of the releasees from any loss, liability, damage, or cost which any may incur as the result of such claim.

I have  read this RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, AND PARENTAL CONSENT AGREEMENT,  understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it and have signed it freely and without any inducement or assurance of any nature and intend it be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extend allowed by law and agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid the balance, notwithstanding, shall continue in full force and effect.

I hereby grant my full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use any photographs, video tapes, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. All persons and items are subject to search and must go thru a security check.

I understand that if I run in the first race or the second race, and I do not finish in the time allotted, I agree to be picked up by race officials and/or Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 5K committee members in a vehicle and transported back to the finish line.
