Plunge Day is Here – Where do I start?Pre-Registered Individual Plungers - When you arrive at the Plunge, please head to the check-in area under the appropriate alphabetical listing according to your last name. As you check in, additional donations will be accepted and added to your fundraising total. You will receive wristbands and an index card to pick-up your Plunger gift (at another area). Wristbands must be worn to participate in the Plunge and will admit you to lunch. If you register on-line, please bring a copy of your receipt. Teams of 10 or More - When you arrive at the Plunge find your team and send ONLY the Team Captain to the Team Check-in area. At check-in additional donations will be accepted and added to your fundraising total. Team Captains will be given wristbands and index cards to pick-up Plunger gifts (at another area) for your entire team. Wristbands must be worn to participate in the Plunge and will admit you to lunch. On-Site Registration – Just complete a registration form, bring at least $100, and head to the On-Site Registration Area. Walk-ups are welcome! Registered But Cannot Make It - All donations will be credited to your account. If you’ve raised enough money to be eligible for a Plunger gift, you can still receive that item by contacting the Special Olympics New Jersey office at (609)896-8000 or e-mail Total Funds Raised - At the Plunge check-in areas, volunteers and staff will have a list of everyone who registered and all payments received by the Plunge online registration deadline (see Plunge Kit). Tax Deductible Donations – All donations are tax deductible. For a paper receipt please call Special Olympics New Jersey at (609)896-8000 or e-mail Tax Number – For tax numbers, please call Special Olympics New Jersey at (609)896-8000 or e-mail Donor Wants a Receipt - The on-line registration component of our website allows for supporters to donate directly to the Plunger’s website using various payment methods. A receipt is created immediately and is available for printing. If a sponsor mails their donation, be sure they include a request for a receipt with their donation. Contact the Law Enforcement Sponsorship Department at the Special Olympics New Jersey office, (609)896-8000 or e-mail Record of Donations - We provide a “Plunger’s Record of $ Raised” form for your convenience (see Plunge Kit). Use it to keep track of your cash and check pledges as you collect them. Make as many copies as you need. There is no need to turn in the form. However, we recommend that you bring the form with you on the day of the Plunge. Corporate Involvement - Monetary and in-kind support are always needed to operate an event of this size. Your company can get involved in any number of ways … here are some ideas:
Changing Facilities – Men’s and Women’s changing facilities are available on-site. We suggest that you leave valuable items at home, or with a family member/friend while you take the Plunge. Souvenirs - There’s tons of cool stuff available for purchase at the Souvenirs table. Spectators – Spectators are welcome to watch the event at no charge. There will be a $10 admittance fee to the buffet; children under 12 are free. Plungers will receive two free wristbands at check-in; use one for yourself and treat someone to the other. |
