TO PULL A PLANE FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS?

Registration for 2012 is not open yet - please check back again! 2011 Event photos. Join us as teams of 20 compete to pull a Boeing 737 weighing over 93,000 lbs. on the United tarmac at Newark Liberty International Airport!
Each team has a captain and will compete in three ways:
Fastest Pull
Team to pull the aircraft 12 feet in the least amount of time wins
Lowest Combined Weight Pull
Team with the lowest team weight to pull the aircraft 12 feet in the least amount of time (two-minute limit) wins
Top Fundraiser
Teams are encouraged to raise as much money as possible prior to the event. The top three teams will be honored in post-event ceremonies.
All proceeds collected by Plane Pull teams benefit Special Olympics New Jersey athletes and help foster the Special Olympics New Jersey mission:
To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
The Plane Pull was first introduced in 1997. The success of this event has helped more than 22,000 athletes train and compete free of charge, year-round in 24 Olympic-type sports.
