SNOW BOWL FAQs

Who Can Participate?
Any flag football team with players that are 18 years of age or older are eligible to participate. Each member of the team must sign a waiver before they will be allowed to play on the field. We suggest that those with health concerns check with their doctors before participating.

How much does it cost?
The minimum donation per team is $1,600 to participate in the Snow Bowl at the Punt Level.

Why do you ask for $100 by the registration deadline if the minimum donation is $1,600?
At this time we will only register 80 teams for the two day tournament. By sending in your $100, you secure a place in one of the Division slots. By asking teams to submit a deposit of $100 by the registration deadline, we allow team members to continue to raise funds from family members and friends in order to cover the minimum registration fee- the Punt Level of $1,600.

Can we submit the minimum registration fee of $1,600 instead of the $100 deposit?
Yes. By submitting the $1,600 your team will be officially registered at the Punt Level to play and will owe nothing on the day of the tournament.

Can we raise more than the $1,600 minimum?
Absolutely! There are two other registration levels; the Pass level which is $2,500 and the Touchdown level which is $5,000. Each of these levels provides additional incentive items for the team members.

Can we still participate if we miss the Registration Deadline?
Yes, but only if a team slot is available in the Division you want to play in. If all the slots are full, your name will be placed on a wait list and you will be called if we have a cancellation. We will not take your $100 deposit unless we have an opening.

Can we register on the day of the tournament?
No.

Can we bring additional donations to the tournament?
Yes. We welcome teams to continue fundraising up to the day of the tournament. We will accept any donations and add them to your final tally.

Can we bring family and friends to watch?
Yes. Spectators may attend free of charge, however, due to security and insurance reasons spectators must remain in the stands and not go on the field. Spectators may be able to view the game from the designated stand seating area or from the Coaches Club (field level) directly below the stand seating area.

Can we wear our team uniform?
Teams are encouraged to wear identifiable team uniforms appropriate for the sport and weather conditions. Check the weather the day of the tournament and bring extra jerseys, socks, shoes, gloves etc. Locker rooms are provided for the players’ use.

What about parking?
We do not anticipate any problem with parking. Signs will be posted with directions to the tournament entrance for players and spectators which will be East Gate, Lot A.

Can we bring coolers into the stadium?
No, only water bottles are allowed in the stadium. There will be food available for the players and officials and event staff. Vendors in the Coaches Club will be open for spectators to purchase food or they may tailgate.

When do the games start?
The first games begin at 8:00am. Five games will be played on the field simultaneously with each game lasting 30 minutes in length. The Captain will be sent a schedule prior to the day of the tournament. Teams should arrive 90 minutes before their scheduled first game to allow time for parking, change of clothes and warming up.

What is the role of the Team Captain?
The Team Captain initially secures a spot for his/her team in a Division with a $100 deposit; makes sure all players have signed a waiver and registered their information; hands in all donations due and any additional monies; picks-up team incentive gifts and information on day of the tournament. Captains should plan to arrive at the stadium between 7:00-7:30am on the day of their scheduled games to check in and attend a short meeting before the tournament begins.

What is the format for the games?
The format is 6-on-6 with light blocking

Is this a contact or no contact flag football tournament?
There may be some contact with blocking; blocking must be open handed and thrust outward from the chest with open hands and not "loaded up" from the side. There is no blocking below the waist or above the shoulders. There are no chop-blocks and you cannot leave your feet.

How will the Champion of a Division be determined?
The winners of the Semi-Final Rounds will play each other for the Championship Game. There will be four championship games representing the winners from each Division: Competitive, Coed, Saturday and Sunday Recreation.
