Young Athletes™ in School

What does every child want? The chance to kick a ball, throw it well, to share that success with friends and family. What does every child with intellectual disabilities want? The exact same thing.

Special Olympics New Jersey Young Athletes is an inclusive sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities and developmental delays ages 2 to 7 years old. Young Athletes provides children with activities and games that meet their individual skill level and ability levels, while allowing them to play together in a fun and inclusive environment. The program shows that all children should be valued for their talents and abilities. Children of all abilities take part and they all benefit. Young Athletes can be used in the preschool or physical education classroom.
