The Polar Bear Plunge once again rocked the town of Wildwood, despite the cold weather and freezing wind!  Over 875 plungers signed up to brave the freezing sand with thoughts of summer in their mind. Whether they were in costume or simply sporting a bathing suit, this community worked hard for months and came together to help the athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey!  All the efforts from the plungers and donors amounted to raising over $281,000!  In the past 17 years, this event has raised over $4 million!

The day started for most inside the Wildwood Convention Center where they checked-in and received all of their incentive prizes earned from fundraising.  They could warm up, shop for souvenirs, or change inside as well.  Many ventured back to the parking lot with their teams to keep warm and celebrate the day until it was time to hit the beach and sprint to the awaiting waves.  Afterwards all plungers were treated to a buffet lunch inside the Convention Center.
