The courses section of our coach center is your source for coaching resources that can help you advance your coaching perspective, strategy and team success. These courses include Principles of Coaching, Coaching Special Olympics Athletes and Coaching Unified Sports.
Each course page will provide information on the course description, how to take the course, helpful course links, and any additional course documents and information. Participate in any of these three courses to achieve a certification level or badge!
Principles of Coaching
The Principles of Coaching course progresses from the core understanding of Special Olympics provided by the Coaching Special Olympics Athletes course to the application of coaching strategies specific to these athletes.
Coaching Special Olympics Athletes
The Coaching Special Olympics Athletes online course is provided by the American Sports Education Program (ASEP) and gives coaches information about Special Olympics athletes in order to expand their understanding of athletes’ challenges.
Coaching Unified Sports
The Coaching Unified Sports online course provided through the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) shares with coaches how to promote meaningful involvement within a team of athletes with and without intellectual disabilities.
