Each course page will provide information on the course description, how to take the course, and any additional course documents and information.

Coaching Special Olympics Athletes

The Coaching Special Olympics Athletes online course is provided by the American Sports Education Program (ASEP) and gives coaches information about Special Olympics athletes in order to expand their understanding of athletes’ challenges.

Principles of Coaching

The Principles of Coaching course progresses from the core understanding of Special Olympics provided by the Coaching Special Olympics Athletes course to the application of coaching strategies specific to these athletes.

Coaching Unified Sports

Unified Sports is an inclusive sports program that unites Special Olympics athletes (individuals with intellectual disabilities) and Unified partners (individuals without intellectual disabilities) as teammates for training and competition. SONJ has community and school-based Unified Sports options available.

The Coaching Unified Sports online course provided through the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) shares with coaches how to promote meaningful involvement within a team of athletes with and without intellectual disabilities.
