The 9th Annual Garden State Unified Golf Classic (GSUGC) to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) was once again held at the prestigious Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield, NJ on Monday, September 22, 2025.

The premier South Jersey event hosted 116 golfers including 2 Unified golf teams. Over 50 companies supported the event with sponsorships, product donations and in-kind support. Cooler backpacks with a choice of beverages were distributed and golfers were able to use Jacob Coupe’s (SONJ athlete) drive location as their first shot at the Meet the Athlete Hole. Other contests like guess the tees & roll the dice were huge hits!

Rob Curley, Chairman of the event, served as the emcee for the evening’s program. Sponsor awards were distributed, and special thanks went out to Tournament Sponsor, Wolf Scott. Heather Andersen, President & CEO of SONJ, thanked the event committee and introduced the video presentation which featured Jacob Coupe’s story. After the video Jacob spoke about his challenges and how SONJ has made a positive impact in his life.

The event featured a raffle which offered gift baskets, electronics, home goods and more, as well as an online auction that featured sports tickets, golf outings, gift certificates, jewelry and much more.

Proceeds from GSUGC will enable Special Olympics New Jersey to provide thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to train and compete in sport, at Special Olympics, a more inclusive world begins with sports, but the impact extends far beyond the playing field.

The committee has already started planning for next year’s milestone 10th anniversary event which will be held on September 28, 2026!
