Staffed with a Clinical Director and healthcare providers, Special Olympics New Jersey is able to provide free medical screenings on a mobile health vehicle to athletes and Unified partners at events and competitions throughout the state.
Serving Our Community
The mobile health vehicle allows us to reach athletes who might not otherwise be able to regularly visit a physician due to affordability of health services, transportation and/or lack of appropriate services.
The medical portion of the SONJ Participation Packet is completed at a MedFest event. Before arriving to a MedFest, the Medical History portion (pages 4 & 5) and the Release form (page 1) must be completed.
Request a MedFest
SONJ can bring the Mobile Health Vehicle or travel to facilities to host MedFest events for groups that guarantee at least 20-30 athletes. Our Clinical Directors and medical volunteers will screen athletes over the course of three to four hours.
Event requests must be put in at least two months prior to the anticipated start date. Requests submitted within 60 days of the event will be considered on a case by case basis, and are not guaranteed to be filled. Please note that requests for weekdays require our dedicated Clinical Directors taking off work in order to run a MedFest event.
