The 28th Annual Perlman Cup was a successful day raising awareness and funds for Special Olympics New Jersey’s (SONJ). The mission of the organization is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

150 golfers joined the all-female event, which consists of an 18-hole tournament and a clinic lead by NJ PGA golf pros. Notable contests on the golf course offered highlights as well: On the Green, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Straightest Drive, Tees and Hole in One (sponsored by Flemington BMW).

Special Olympics New Jersey athlete Aadita Arulalan, who represented SO USA at this year’s SO World Games in Turin (Italy), shared her story of how much SONJ has helped her and her family in finding a safe and supportive environment to develop her skills both on and off the playing field.

This year, $72,000 was raised – the highest amount in the event’s history! Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this exciting day! Your generosity will make a meaningful impact by providing training, competition opportunities, health initiatives, and much more to athletes across the state – all free of charge.

Thank you to our sponsors!
