Aadita Arulalan
Aadita Arulalan of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, started competing with Special Olympics in 2011 and has since participated in athletics, basketball, bowling, figure skating, soccer and swimming. Years ago, Aadita suffered a traumatic injury to her left tibia while training. After recovering, Aadita returned to the ice to train harder than ever, proving her courage and determination. Twice, Aadita has represented Special Olympics New Jersey at the annual Capitol Hill Day, where athletes, serving as self-advocates, educate lawmakers and their staff about the life-changing work done by the organization.
At home, she enjoys watercolor painting and drawing anime. Currently, she trains on and off the ice multiple days a week and is inspired by skater Isabeau Levito, who practices at the same rink as Aadita. She is certain that attending the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 as a figure skating athlete is an experience that she will treasure forever.
