On Sunday, December 5, 2021, we welcomed Jingle All the Way 3K participants back to the SONJ Sports Complex after a year away. The event consisted of a 1K Jingle Jog, 3K Timed Competitive Run and 3K Fun Run. The Jingle Jog was kicked off by SONJ athlete, Colin, then the 3K events were started by Lawrenceville Mayor Jim Kownacki and Councilman John Ryan, accompanied by lots of cow bell! Runners were led off by an elf and welcomed back by spirited reindeer.
Participants embraced this year’s theme, JUNGLE All the Way, by wearing animal print, animal hats and even carrying stuffed animals as they ran, walked, and strolled! Our new Amazon neighbors cheered on participants as they ran across their campus, a new part of this year’s course.
Post-race, attendees enjoyed food from Antimo’s Italian Kitchen, donuts and apples from Terhune Orchards, Little Bites generously donated by BIMBO Bakeries and hot cocoa with hot water donated by A Clear Alternative, while listening to the musical stylings of SONJ athlete, DJ Redline.
Jingle All the Way 3K has raised over $50,000 to support Special Olympics New Jersey athletes! Missed out this year? Sign up at jatw3k.org to participate virtually until December 15 to help us reach our goal! Thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, athletes, and participants – we couldn’t do it without you!
