The weather was perfect on July 4 this year and the views were equally amazing! Participants came over on the Liberty State Park Ferry to participate in the Statue of Liberty 5K, hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics New Jersey.
The course featured a 360 view of the Statue of Liberty, and 7 laps were required to complete the 5K distance. Some participants chose the option of walking 4 laps for a 3K instead.
The event had 450 participants who raised almost $60,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey, which provides sport competition and health services to thousands of athletes around the state! Thank you to the runners, the volunteers, Statue Cruises, M&T Bank, and everyone involved in making this event such as success!
