On February 24, 2024, history was made as Seaside Heights hosted the 31st annual, record-breaking, Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ). Despite the frigid weather, the energy and excitement were contagious. With spirits soaring, over 8,000 brave individuals took the plunge, united by their dedication to the athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey. Their remarkable efforts raised an astounding combined amount of over $2.6 million! This incredible achievement, passing the previous plunge record set in 2020, demonstrates the unwavering commitment and support from the community.

Events like this help provide sports training and competitions, health screenings, and so much more to the thousands of Special Olympics New Jersey athletes across the state. Having a place to belong and make friends in a safe environment is so crucial for them. You have all helped them immensely!
