On Monday, June 24, the 29th Annual Higgins Golf Classic was held at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, NJ to benefit over 26,000 Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) athletes.
Dedicated to long-time Special Olympics New Jersey President and CEO, Mike Higgins, this fundraising golf event has become one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the state.
Over 220 golfers participated in the tournament amongst two different courses, which raised over $284,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey! This prestigious event also featured two SONJ athletes on “Athlete Mulligan” holes, as well as New Jersey Professional Golf Association participants who assisted throughout the day, and numerous sponsors such as presenting sponsor Becton Dickinson, and other event sponsors like Hollister Construction, Greenberg Traurig, and Hole-In-One contest sponsor Audi Of Mendham/Bridgewater.
Overall, golfers enjoyed a beautiful day with favorable summer weather, delicious gourmet food and beverage items such as cold lemonade, fresh seafood & meats, brick oven pizza, and much, much more!
The silent auction and raffle items were also a big hit. A lucky winner got to take home an exclusive signed Bon Jovi guitar!
