The prestigious Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield, NJ was the location for the 3rd Annual Garden State Unified Golf Classic and it was a great event!  The weather was perfect as 124 golfers made up 31 teams and enjoyed great food, an 18-hole Unified Golf Tournament, and a post-tournament reception which included dinner, an online auction, and valuable merchandise raffles.

The event raised $112,915 for Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) and supported the power of Unified Sports, a Special Olympics initiative that brings together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities on sports teams to train and compete side-by-side.

Through Unified Sports, people of all abilities have the opportunity to become teammates and friends, on and off the playing field, creating a more inclusive environment! The SONJ Unified Golf programs provide perfect examples of this unique sport experience.

The participants were also treated to a video about Special Olympics New Jersey athlete, Brian Beirne, and his journey to the USA Games.  His father, Jay, was also featured in the video and spoke at the reception.

JLL & Citizens Bank were the largest Tournament Sponsors, while several South Jersey companies sponsored the tournament and additional companies came out with foursomes. Special thanks to our sponsors:
