On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, United States Senator for New Jersey Cory Booker stopped by the Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) Sports Complex during his Annual Jersey Road Trip tour, which focuses on his efforts to secure congressionally directed funding for critical projects, address legislative priorities, and support local job creators, businesses, organizations, and communities. Senator Booker interacted SONJ athletes who were in attendance, played some cornhole, and received a tour of the inclusive facility. He proudly presented SONJ with a check for $500,000 for continued health and wellness programming for the thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state.
