After a week filled with snow, we kicked off our 2018 Winter Games in South Jersey with volleyball and floor hockey this past weekend.
Volleyball featured 9 teams and was held at Galloway Township Middle School, while 14 floor hockey teams competed at Stockton University inside The Sport Center. The entire weekend was support by Atlantic City Electric.
In addition to floor hockey, Stockton University also featured Young Athletes learning sports skills, and Healthy Athletes conducted health and concussion baseline screenings for over 20 athletes.
Over at Galloway Township Middle School, Healthy Athletes hosted a Health Promotion event with the support of AtlantiCare. Athletes were able to go through several interactive stations, such as bone density screenings, height and weight measurements, BP readings, as well asnutrition, hydration, hand washing, sun safety, and tobacco cessation education. Health Promotion events give athletes an opportunity to focus on their overall health and wellness.
