New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Group (NJM) is an insurance group founded in New Jersey that offers personal and business insurance with emphasis on serving the communities in which they operate.
NJM has a history of supporting Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) athletes that are selected to compete at the World Games and USA Games. In 2019, NJM sponsored triathlete, Chris Wines, who represented SONJ as part of the Special Olympics USA team at the Special Olympics World Games held Dubai. NJM hosted a large sendoff celebration for Chris and followed his journey through social media of his experience and success. Then in 2022, NJM proudly supported five athletes from the states they have a presence in who participated at the Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, FL. The sponsorships helped to defray travel, meal, and training camp expenses for athletes from Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania who competed in a variety of swimming events.
NJM employees volunteer at events, are coaches, and accompany SONJ athletes during the Parade of Athletes at the annual Summer Games Opening Ceremony. Every year, NJM sponsors the Special Olympics New Jersey Nights with games at the Trenton Thunder and Somerset Patriots (New York Yankees AA affiliate). Athletes and their families are given tickets to attend the games and participate in on-field activities between innings. NJM presents a check at the games with their contribution to SONJ. In addition to this support, NJM sponsors several fundraising events that benefit SONJ.
